The Journey Begins: Our adventure commenced at dawn. With the sun peering over the horizon, we left Delhi, leaving the hustle and bustle behind. The promise of a memorable day in Haridwar lay ahead.
A Pit Stop at Cheetal Grand: En route, we couldn’t resist the urge to stop at the famous Cheetal Grand at 7:30 a.m. As freshly brewed chai and crispy pakode aroma filled the air, we indulged in a hearty breakfast. It was the perfect start to our day.
Welcome to Haridwar: After a few more hours of travel, we arrived in Haridwar at 10:30 a.m. The sacred vibes of the city instantly embraced us as we set foot on the sacred soil.
A Ride to Mansa Devi: Our first destination was the Mansa Devi Temple. At 11 a.m. We boarded a trolley that carried us to the hilltop shrine. The journey offered panoramic views of Haridwar and the Ganges, setting the tone for our spiritual experience.
Lunch at Mohan Puri Wale: After seeking blessings at Mansa Devi, our appetites led us to the iconic Mohan Puri Wale for lunch. This century-old eatery in Haridwar is renowned for its delectable fare. We relished Puri with Aloo and Choley, complemented by a serving of Pethe ki Sabji. The sweetness of the meal was perfectly balanced, with Gulab Jamun and Malpua served with warm Halwa.
Satisfying Our Sweet Tooth: As we savoured the meal at Mohan Puri Wale, we couldn’t resist trying their famous Meethi Lassi, which added a refreshing touch to our culinary journey.
Jain Chat Bhandar for Patta Chaat: Continuing our food exploration, we went to Jain Chat Bhandar, a popular spot for Patta Chaat. This dish’s tangy and spicy flavours were a delightful surprise and a testament to Haridwar’s diverse culinary offerings.
A Tranquil Pause by the Ganges: With our appetites satisfied and spirits rejuvenated, we found a serene spot by the banks of the Ganges at 4:30 p.m. The gentle sound of flowing water and the sight of the setting sun allowed us to reflect on our day’s experiences.
Journey Back to Delhi: As the clock neared 9 p.m., we reluctantly bid farewell to Haridwar. Our one-day adventure had ended, leaving us with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for the city’s culture and cuisine.
